Ocean Blue Punta Cana Reviews
74%
of more than 1300 Punta Cana reviews would return to the Ocean
Blue Punta Cana. and recommended it for
great cheap Punta Cana vacations.
Travelers loved:
- Most guests thought the hotel was very good value for how
much they paid.
- The pool, beach, landscaping and scenery all won super notices from the majority of the Punta Cana reviews as did the sunny Domincan Republic weather.
- Another big draw was Mike’s Coffee, which one reviewer said
had the best coffee they’d ever tried.
- The entertainment offered was lively, but some reviewers
found it rather the same if viewed night after night.
- Another bright spot was the staff: most visitors reported
them as friendly, helpful, and eager to please.
- Many Punta Cana reviews commented that this Dominican Republic beach was one of the
best beaches in the Caribbean and maybe even the world!
- Rooms large enough for a family of 4 or 5.
- Most guests thought the food was good and loved the Italian
restaurant.
- Mini-bar in the room was restocked daily.
- There is almost always a breeze off the ocean
to keep you cool.
- The choice of several
swim-up bars.
- The resort was very clean.
- Kids loved the fantastic kids-club whose
staff did a great job and the kids mini-disco
at night.
- Lots of shade
options available by the pool and on the beach.
Travelers disliked:
-
By far, the number-one complaint was for the people hawking
timeshares. Some felt they were hounded and even ambushed at a
complimentary breakfast.
- Many noted that the rooms could use a renovation.
- While some reviewers were impressed with the level of
cleanness, others
complained that their rooms smelled or were untidy and the service was
inefficient.
- Others said that activities tended to be late or were
canceled altogether, particularly during the rain.
- As with most Punta Cana resorts, many of the staff spoke primarily Spanish -
some reviewers disliked not being able to communicate with all of the
staff especially the maintenance and cleaning staff.
Tips for Staying at the Ocean Blue Punta Cana
- A dress code
is required for the restaurants with
long pants for men.
- Avoid the complementary VIP breakfast as it is a timeshare
presentation. The people with "H10" on their shirts are
timeshare sellers so avoid them if you don't wish to go to a
presentation.
- There are no
elevators, so guests who have trouble with stairs should
be sure to book a ground floor suite.
- Best Punta Cana things to do
include: zip lining, snorkeling, and swimming with
the sharks and sting-rays.
- If you ask they will upgrade your drinks to name-brand
liquors.
- Bring an insulated
travel mug for your drinks.
- The hotel gets busier on the weekend
due to Puerto Rican
guests vacationing (especially in the summer months) so if you don't
like crowds you make want to plan your out of resort activities and
tours on Saturday and Sunday.
- For some ocean
wave action and boogie
boarding, walk down the beach for about ten minutes to the
right of the hotel (when you're facing the water).
Recommendation:
Most families and groups were happy with their
choice of the Ocean Blue Golf & Beach Resort. With its all
inclusive wedding package, it’s also no surprise that Ocean Blue Punta
Cana draws a lot of all inclusive destination wedding events.
